DVLA Bike Vistas is back...
and this year it's better than ever!
The first part of the competition is now closed. Check back soon for the announcement of the finalists!
We have also teamed up with Yamaha, Canon and The Sun Biker and developed a brand new X-factor-style format to unearth Britain's Best Amateur Motorbike photographer.
Encompassing two phases, this year's event will culminate in the overall winner being revealed at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre, on November 26.
We have again recruited the services of the award-wining bike photographer Chippy Wood who, together with our team representing Yamaha, Canon and The Sun newspaper, will whittle the entries down to three. Judging will take place on Wednesday, September 30.
Those lucky three will go onto our Grand Final weekend at a prestigious venue. There, they will receive professional coaching from Chippy and, armed with the latest and very best Canon EOS 1D Mk III camera and access to an array of some of the best lenses money can buy, will be required to fulfil a series of "professional" photographic briefs encompassing an YZF-R1 Sportsbike, the iconic VMAX, an XVS950A Cruiser and a XT660Z Ténéré adventure motorcycle, all provided courtesy of Yamaha. From here we will again select the overall winner.
The prizes on offer represent the level of involvement. The photographer crowned Britain's Best Amateur photographer will walk away with Yamaha-branded luggage, a Canon G10 14.7 mega pixel camera, free tickets to the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show and their work featured in The Sun newspaper.
While we welcome overseas entries, entrants must be prepared to travel by their own means to the finals event and, ultimately, to the National Exhibition Centre in November.
